Guided tour of the Australian Peace Garden - "Garden of dreams" and a stroll to the Tourist Office where a convivial moment will be offered around an
With our tour guides and the Association "Art & Jardins|Hauts-de-France", come and participate in our guided visit and learn more about the history of the ANZAC (Australian and New-Zealand Army Corps) troops, who came to join the First World War on the Somme front and more particularly in Amiens. On this occasion, you will discover the Australian Peace Garden which, in its design, materials and plants, evokes this great moment of history and invites you to reflect on peace. You will then walk to the Tourist Office (located on the forecourt of the Cathedral), passing by the Bailey Bridge in the Jardin des Plantes (the municipal plant nursery), a bridge offered to Amiens by veterans of the Australian Engineering Corps (guided walk). At the Tourist Office, a convivial moment will be offered to you, with people of Amiens and Australian visitors, around the new exhibition on the theme of "the secrets of life behind the lines".
The visit is organised in partnership with Somme Tourisme and the Association "Art & jardins|Hauts-de-France". The Exhibition is organized in partnership with the Naours Interpretation Centre and the National Library of France. With the participation of Mr. Louis Teyssedou, teacher of Literature and History.
